Relax on a business trip with a trip to Bronson Canyon-Griffith Park is so famous for its craggy and remote beauty that it has been used as a filming location for many tv shows and movies, westerns and science fiction in particular. In 1903, the area was used as for quarries, and the stone was used in the construction of the local city streets. The caves that were used were abandoned in the 1920s, and made an appearance in the 1960s Batman tv show as the Batcave. The canyon was also used in many Star Trek episodes. It is easily accessible from Hollywood.
Trebek Open Space is a 62-acre tract of land with many hiking paths that give you panoramic views of the area. Named for Alex Trebek, the Jeopardy! Game show host who donated the land to the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy in 1998, the space has city views and dog-friendly routes, and is far less busy than the nearby Runyon Canyon.
Los Angeles’s most famous hiking trail is to the iconic Hollywood Sign. The sign is perched in Griffith Park, and elevated enough to give you spectacular views of surrounding Los Angeles. The hike should take around two to three hours, and spans approximately six miles. The difficulty is largely regarded as moderate, and the dirt trails are marked clearly. The best time to go is early morning or sunset, so bring your dog (on a leash) and hit the trails!
